Refrain (2005) - 0:41min (or infinite in loop)

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

Refrain was the entrance examination animation with what I did it to study here at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany. 3 days of hard work inclusive story, modeling, animation and finally burning it to DVD.
We had two pictures that had to appear in the animation. The first one were two men with heads sticking out of a manhole, the second one a woman looking out of a train window.
This short you can loop in your quicktime player!

Stop Motion

Here are some stop motion movies of mine. Start with the newest I did at the Filmakademie in July.

"Das Goldene Ei" ("The Golden Egg") (2006) - 5:16min

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

The project is called "The Golden Egg" ("Das goldene Ei"). Preproduction about a month, the set was built in 3-4 days, animation 8 days, postproduction 3 days.
Technique: I worked with replacable parts of the bodies, modeled them in 3D and had them printed out with a 3D printer. The printing was kindly sponsored by 4D concepts near Frankfurt, Germany.
Music was done by Rainer Bartesch. He kindly provided me the main theme as piano sheet music. You may download it here.

Live Action

I didn't do many live action movies, but the ones I did I'd like to share with you.

"Einbrecher" ("House Breakers") (2006) - 7:32min

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

"Einbrecher" was the first movie I directed. Roland Petrizza did the camera. It was a project at the Filmakademy Baden-Wuerttemberg. We had one day in the studio with a shooting time of maximum 12 hours. Furthermore we had to chose one of four short scenes taken out of some famous movies. Mine was from "Manhattan Murder Mystery" by Woody Allen. But I re-wrote the scene completely new so nothing is like the original except maybe one sentence.
Mind the end titles! I animated them a bit...

"16mm Short" (2006) - 3:51min

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

In our camera course our teacher gave us a 16mm film camera and sent us into the wide world, shooting the next Oscar nominated movie. We didn't get far, plus, we had only a certain ammount of film material, to be exact, one reel. And we had to cut in the Camera. Later we had the film scanned and I cut away the flashes that came with every stopping of the camera. And well, at the end the action scene I cut a bit more...
But it was lots of fun. The people you see at the end were the several camera men and women, every one of us shot a few scenes. I shot the title sequences because the rest of the time I hopped in front of the camera ;-)

"Handyfilm" (Cell phone movie") (2006) - 1:59min

Because our DVC-Pro camera was broken we used a mobile phone (Sony Ericsson K750i) to shoot this little movie. Don't take it too serious, it was propably more fun shooting it than watching it :-)
